Recycling Drop In Centre

We are pleased to announce the opening of our recycling drop off centre based at our recycling depot on lingfield way in Darlington. All commercial businesses may utlilise the facility to recycle materials. There will be no charges associated with tipping most recyclable materials. NQA ISO Standards

We are pleased to announce our recent acquisition of ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS18001 accreditations. The assessment took place over two days at our recyling depot in Darlington. We received very positive feedback from the assessors who were impressed with our policies and procedures. The assesrors commented on the level of professionalism throughout our operation.

Acquisition of Foreman Recycling, Spennymoor. - Monday, October 06, 2014

We are very pleased to announce that on the 15th of September 2014 Total Recycling Services officially acquired Foreman Recycling Limited who's head office and recycling centre was based in Spennymoor. Total Recycling Services purchased the assets and goodwill of the Foreman Recycling business.

Due to an existing working relationship between the two companies the acquisition was a logical step for us in expanding the recycling capabilities of our business whilst continuing to provide professional hazardous waste recovery & industrial services to the existing Foreman Recycling customer base.

We look forward to building upon the foundations created by Foreman Recycling and further establishing relationships with our clients by providing a comprehensive range of services that are both environmentally sound and cost effective.

Job Vacancy - Chemist / Hazardous Waste Manager – Full Time - Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Total Recycling Services are now recruiting a qualified Chemist to oversee Hazardous Waste operations at their new, purpose built Transfer Station in Darlington.

Reporting to the Operations Director , you will provide technical advice across the Company on Chemical matters, and ensure that all wastes are assessed, handled, and stored in accordance with best practice and ISO accredited management systems.

Directly responsible for 5-10 operational/ laboratory staff members you will also be called upon to undertake off-site work across the country on occasion , visiting customers, providing advice and carrying out inventory and packaging work where required to do so.A hands on approach to daily working is essential.

  • You must hold a minimum qualification of HNC Chemistry.
  • You will ideally be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of technical/chemical waste sampling and analysis, waste management operations and associated processes
  • The ability to make decisions in a continually changing environment with the highest regard for Health , Safety and Environmental concerns will be critical to your success in this role.
  • Applications from CoTC (WAMITAB or equivalent) holders in waste transfer and treatment are particularly welcome , as are those with DGSA and NEBOSH qualifications.
  • In due course you will play a pivotal role in the development and management of a bespoke waste treatment plant.
  • A starting salary of £25000 - £34000 will be offered subject to experience.
 
Hazardous waste transfer station now open - Wednesday, January 02, 2013

We are pleased to announce the opening of our new hazardous waste transfer station at our main depot on Lingfield Way in Darlington. The transfer station is fully licensed and permitted for many types of hazardous waste. A copy of the site permit can be downloaded from our duty of care page that includes a comprehensive list of European Waste Catalogue (E.W.C) codes that the site is permitted to take.

The transfer station includes an on site laboratory that is equipped with the latest technologies for performing waste analysis and a chemist is on-site at all times to perform any required waste sampling. The transfer station facilities cost effective waste management that is fully compliant with environment agency standards.

A successful 2012 - and our plans for 2013 - Saturday, January 05, 2013

2012 was a very successful year for us we continued to achieve the steady growth we have acquired since we started back in 2009. We have expanded in all areas of our business with the addition of a hazardous waste transfer station, the development and training of our workforce, and addtions to our waste management equipment and vehicle fleet.

Andy Dobson has been appointed operations director and works alongside our managing director Alex Foreman. Andy has a wealth of experience from his time working at the Environment Agency and is responsible for day to day operations at our site in Darlington.

The commercial team is now managed by Sue Woodward. Sue came to us after a very successful time working with Veolia. 

Brian Robinson was appointed in the last quarter of 2012 as on site chemist and is responsible for any waste analysis and sampling.  

Our transport department also seen growth in 2012 with the acquisition of new vehicles and additions to the team. Extensive training has been provided to the transport and operative teams in accordance with our business environmental, quality and health and safety management systems.

We look forward to the year ahead and continuing to provide the best service possible for our customers and developing our workforce as we move forward. If you would like more information about our plans for 2013 please contact us.

 
Confidential destruction at our recycling depot in Darlington - Saturday, January 05, 2013

We now offer a full confidential destruction service direct from our recycling depot in Darlington. We have a large industrial shredding machine We provide full documentation for confidential destruction and can arrange for customer to attend site to watch theshredding process if required.

ISO Accreditation 9001, 14001 and OHSAS18001 - Saturday, December 15, 2012

We are pleased to announce that we were successful in maintaining our business quality, environmental and health and safety standards for 2013. We were audited in November 2012 and after a successful audit certificates were awarded for ISO9001, 14001 and OHSAS18001. Our next audit is scheduled for November 2013.

Hazardous Waste Transfer Station Nears Completion - Tuesday, August 21, 2012

The two-year wait for our £1.3m waste transfer station is nearly over. The transfer station will be opening this coming October. The new waste transfer station is a state-of-the-art facility which will enhance our growing business and increase our reputation as one of the market leaders in recycling and waste management.

 
New Environmental Permit Issued - Wednesday, June 06, 2012

Our Environmental Permit ( Number : EPR/NP3330CU) for Lingfield Way Recycling and Treatment Centre has now been issued by the Environment Agency - which will allow the receipt and processing of a wide range of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.

While the permit has been issued, we are ensuring that all infrastructure and control measures are in place to meet the permit requirements and Sector Guidance Note/Best Available techniques before we commence any waste acceptance under the permission. Anticipated for the next 8-10 weeks , our website will be updated with our progress in due course – please feel free to contact us with any enquiry with regard to your Waste Management and Recycling needs in the meantime.

Emergency Oil Spillage Clearance - Environment Agency - Friday, May 27, 2011

Total Recycling Services were pleased to work in conjunction with the environment agency to conduct an Emergency oil spillage clearance, following an oil spill into a culvited water course/ drainage system. Our operatives worked with the liquid ring tanker to clean the area and suck the oil contamination from the beck.

We have recently appointed a new transport manager. Suzi Griffiths has been working for Bell Trucks for a number of years but will be joining our team in January. We are looking forward to working with Suzi in the new year.

ISO 14001, 9001 and OHSAS 18001 standards - Monday, November 29, 2010

We are pleased to announce the reacquistion of our ISO 14001, 9001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. The assessment with the NQA team took place over 3 days at our headquarters in Darlington. The assessment panel were pleased with our progress since our last assessment and were happy to re-award us the standards.
 

 
New Vehicles Purchase - Thursday, August 19, 2010

We are pleased to announce the recent purchase of two new vehicles to add to our existing fleet.

We have purchased a brand new Mercedes Actros unit with a GVW of 44Tonne and a 26 tonne Mercedes rigid curtainsider with a tuck away tail lift for easy access to back doors. We are looking forward to the delivery of the vehicles in early October and using them to further expand and improve the services that we provide our customers.
